TNASI Visiting Professorship in General Surgery (One Award)

 

  • The application should contain Curriculum Vitae of the candidate, highlighting the contributions by him to the teaching and research in General Surgery. It should also contain a brief account of the details of the proposed programme of his visit including the institution to be visited. An invitation from the institution should also be enclosed. He should also give full details of the Awards and Fellowships of ASI received during the last 10 years.
  • The Professorship is primarily intended to promote surgical learning in one of the institutions in the country, both in the clinical and research areas, by the visit of an active eminent member of the Association of Surgeons of India.
  • The Visiting Professor should visit non-teaching hospitals where minimum facilities are available, particularly where there is no Medical College. He should spend a minimum of FIFTEEN days for conducting operations and giving lectures, demonstrations etc., and should complete his tour before 30th of June and give his report to the Hon. Secretary – tnasi2021@gmail.com , before 15th of July of the subsequent year. He should enclose a certificate from the Head of the Institution which he has visited.
  • The selection will be done by TNASI Executive Committee and the decision of the committee will be final.
  • A Cheque for Rs.10,000, Certificate, Citation & Plaque would be presented to the Visiting Professor during the TNASICON
  • The “Visiting Professor” will be given complimentary registration and local hospitality by the organizers.

ASI Travelling Fellowships for Junior Surgeons in Non Teaching Hospital (Two Awards)

 

  • The Fellowship is meant to be utilized only within our Country.
  • The Fellowship is awarded only to a Full life Member of ASI.
  • The applicants should be below the age of 45 years as on 31st May.
  • The Fellowship will have to be availed in the same year and will not be allowed to be carried forward for subsequent years.
  • The selected candidate will spend a period of 2-3 weeks in a centre of his choice, which should be mutually agreed between himself and the Centre, for updating his knowledge in a given surgical specialty.
  • Documents to be sent include
  • The curriculum vitae of the applicant with details of Personal details, Current position, ASI Membership No., Posts held in the past 10 years, Publications, Research experience, ASI Awards/Fellowships received in the past.
  • The acceptance letter from the centre where the candidate wishes to get trained.
  • Documents along with ASI Membership proof must be sent by email only to Hon. Secretary TNASI – tnasi2021@gmail.com before 30th of September.
  • Applications will be scrutinized by Executive Committee of TNASI and the decision of the Committee will be final.
  • On completion of the training, the candidate must send a detailed report on the Training obtained to Hon. Secretary TNASI – tnasi2021@gmail.com, on or before 30th June of subsequent year.
  • A Cheque for Rs.10,000 and a certificate will be given to the Fellow during the TNASICON .

TNASI Travelling Fellowship for MS Postgraduates (Four Awards)

 

  • The Fellowship is meant to be utilized only within our Country.
  • The Fellowship is awarded only to Postgraduate in General Surgery, who is an Associate Members of TNASI.
  • The Fellowship will have to be availed in the same year and will not be allowed to be carried forward for subsequent years.
  • The selected candidate will spend a period of 2 weeks in a centre of his choice, which should be mutually agreed between himself and the Centre, for updating his knowledge in a given surgical specialty.
  • Documents to be sent include
  • Letter from the Head of the Department where the candidate is pursuing MS General Surgery.
  • The acceptance letter from the centre where the candidate wishes to get trained.
  • Documents along with proof of Associate member of ASI must be sent by email only to Hon. Secretary TNASI – tnasi2021@gmail.com
  • Applications will be scrutinized by Executive Committee of TNASI and the decision of the Committee will be final.
  • On completion of the training, the candidate must send a detailed report on the Training obtained to Hon. Secretary TNASI – tnasi2021@gmail.com, on or before 15th July of subsequent year.
  • A Cheque for Rs.10,000 and a certificate will be given to the Fellow during the TNASICON .
