Dear ASI Colleagues,

Greetings from Tamilnadu ASI Office!

We are proud to announce the creation of an Annual Research grant for deserving projects to be done by or under the guidance of TN ASI members. A sum Rs Two Lakh has been sponsored by Capital Pharma towards this grant for the year 2022-23. We request all our members to utilise this opportunity and also encourage your post graduate trainees who have registered as associates of ASI. The guidelines for application & award of this grant are listed below.

Guidelines & Criteria for TN ASI Research Grant:

1. Application outlining the proposed Research project should be sent by Email to the State ASI Office on or before 1st June 2022.asitnp@gmail.com
2. Lead Author has to be a full member of ASI & all other coauthurs to be associate members of ASI & details of ASI registration to be provided.
3. The project has to be original & can either be prospective or retrospective.
4. It is the responsibility of the Lead Author to get Ethical approval for the project when appropriate, with the institution concerned.
5. Clinical Research projects involving patients should have approval of the Department HOD in a Teaching Institution or Chairman’s Approval in a Private Hospital and copy sent along with the initial application.
6. The project should be completed within 12 months and results presented during the Annual State Conference of TNASI 2023.
7. Written assurance to be given by the Lead Author that the project results will be published with due credits to ASI Tamilnadu State Chapter.
8. A total grant sum of Rs 50,000/- will be approved per study.
9. Upto Four such projects will be supported & sponsored each year.
10. Once the proposal is scrutinised & approved, an initial grant of 15,000/- will be released in the name of lead Author. Project status report to be updated & sent to the State Office within 5 months of the initial fund release. On receipt of project status a further sum of Rs 20,000/- will be released. Only after presenting the project results in the Annual State Chapter Conference will the remaining sum of 15,000/- released.
11. All decisions taken by the TNASI Research Committee will be final.

TN ASI Research Committee panel will include Honorary Chairman, Secretary, Chairman Elect, Academic Council Chairman, Treasurer and Joint Secretary of the TN ASI State Chapter.
