Dr. V. Jeganathan Oration
Dr. V. Jeganathan, the Chairman and Managing Director of Billroth Hospitals, Chennai was born on 19th December 1953. He was a famous Surgical Gastro enterologist, Laproscopic and LASER Surgeon. He graduated M.B.B.S and M.S(General Surgery) from the Prestigious Madras Medical College. He secured F.A.M.S from the University Clinic Vienna, Austria.
Dr. Jeganathan was a Fellow of many prestigious Societies. He was a member of many professional bodies. He has presented more than 80 papers in National and International Conferences and secured Best Paper awards in Six National and three International Conferences.
Dr. Jegananthan was a pioneer in Laparoscopic Surgery in Tamil Nadu and performed record number of LASER Surgeries in the field of Gastro enterology in India. He has been a faculty in many International Conferences. He was a sheet anchor to organize Conferences and arrange finances. He served as the Treasurer of International Society for LASER Surgery and Medicine and TN&P Chapter of ASI in 2006.
Dr. V. Jegananthan was married to Mrs. J. Kala, His family members were Dr. Rajesh(Son), Dr. R. Kalpana (Daughter in Law) and Shruthi (Daughter). He was warm hearted and generous and loved reading and music. He was a workaholic. He passed away suddenly on 17th May 2007 at 54 years of age. This oration has been instituted in his memory by Dr. (Mrs). Padmavathy Damodaram and Dr.Srikumari Damondaram.
Criteria:
- Any Life Member of TNASI in good standing can be proposed for the above oration and seconded by two other members of TNASI, who are in good standing.
- The Proposal document should contain a short Bio data of the Orator, Choice of named Oration and their proposed topic.
- Members should enclose 2 copies of the complete text of their proposed Oration topic.
- TNASI Executive Committee will scrutinise all the proposals and Orators will be finalised. The decision of the Executive Committee will be final.
- The nominations should be sent to the Hon. Secretary, TNASI by sending an email to asitnp@gmail.com on or before 15th of June 2024.
