Extremely thankful for electing me unanimously as Chairman TN ASI.

Our team of office bearers will strive hard to bring further glory to TN ASI. We have set agendas to make TN ASI as the best State Chapter in the country. We have made TN ASI as a paperless organization within 2 months of taking charge. We are happy to have started CME’s and hands on course for PG’s of various Medical Colleges of Tamil Nadu divided into 5 zones. We need further interaction from TN ASI members regarding the improvement that can be done both academically, professionally and humanitarianly aspects as a surgeon.
We are in the process of trying to extend the lease period of national head quarters which is in Chennai by interacting with the Government of Tamil Nadu. We have also made representation to the Health Ministry and Finance Ministry, of Government of Tamil Nadu to increase the cost of surgery of various both general, gastroenterology and oncology under the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme.
We have got a separate vertical of office bearers under the leadership called Social Welfare Council and we have planned to do services in various districts by private hospitals. Surgeons who are interested in collaborating for such camps can come forward and contact their respective city branch Chairman.
We are planning to institute gold medal for Post Graduate’s of final year medical college by conducting online followed by onsite viva. A cash prize of 1,00,000/- will be given to the best Post Graduate during the annual conference under the name “Dr. A. Zameer – TN ASI Gold Medal”.
We are also planning to institute a gold medal and cash prize of 75,000/- for final year MBBS students in surgery under the name of “Dr. T.K. Thirunavukkarasu Gold Medal”
We are in the process of updating the data base of TN ASI members. Although we have 4,200 members only 2,800 members are life members. I request every surgeon who is reading this to kindly update your membership as life member if you are not a life member and encourage every surgeon to be a member of TN ASI.
